Fourth Avenue Asphalt Overlay From Robert Service Way To Main Street
Public Service Announcement
Whitehorse – The Fourth Avenue asphalt overlay project will begin on July 16 and continue through to August 17, weather permitting. The work will take place from the train tracks at Robert Service Way to Main Street and includes:
- Milling down the road surface 60mm from curb to curb
- Application of asphaltic “tack coat” prior to asphalt placement
- Cleanup, permanent pavement markings and line painting after paving
Paving is expected to begin on July 22 and will continue for 7 days. If you have any concerns please contact the City’s contractor Skookum Asphalt at 668-6326.
Traffic will be detoured to one lane each way on one side of the road while the other side is closed for construction. Please travel with care, reduce speed, and obey traffic controllers and construction signage.
All businesses and residences will be accessible during this time. We thank you for your patience and consideration during this construction period.
