Under the authority of the Municipal Act council may pass bylaws for a wide variety of municipal purposes. Included in this section are copies of the bylaws most commonly requested by citizens, businesses, and organizations. The bylaws are listed in alphabetical order.
A bylaw to regulate the control, use, and operation of all-terrain vehicles in the City.
A bylaw to provide for the control of animals.
A bylaw to regulate the control, use and operation of bicycles in the City of Whitehorse.
A bylaw to administer standards respecting the construction, demolition, removal, or alteration of any building or structure within the City.
Business License Bylaw
A bylaw to provide for the licensing and regulating of businesses in the City of Whitehorse.

Bylaw Enforcement Officer Bylaw
A bylaw to establish the position of Bylaw Enforcement Officer and to define the duties and responsibilities of the position.
A bylaw to provide for the regulation of cemeteries and the collection of cemetery fees.
A bylaw to regulate, control or impose prohibitions respecting the use, occupancy, alteration and remediation of properties used as controlled substance properties or grow operations.
A bylaw to provide rules governing the proceedings of council and the transaction of the business of council.
A bylaw to provide for remuneration to be paid to the Mayor and Councillors for the 2015 - 2018 term of office.
A bylaw to regulate the transportation of dangerous goods in the City.
A bylaw to enable the City to enter into development agreements with property owners, and to set conditions to regulate the development of land, buildings, and structures in the City.

Easement Authority Bylaw
A bylaw to delegate the authority for the City of Whitehorse to enter into easement agreements with property owners.
A bylaw to provide for the establishment of a Civil Emergency Measures Commission and an Emergency Measures Plan.
A bylaw to provide for the prevention of fires, the prevention of the spread of fire, and for the preservation of life and property within the City.

The City does not have a specific noise bylaw. However, there are provisions regarding noise included in the Maintenance Bylaw.

Parks and Public Open Space Bylaw
A bylaw to govern the use of parks and public open space within the City of Whitehorse.
A bylaw to provide for the collection of parks and recreation fees and charges.
A bylaw to regulate the provision of personal services in the City.
A bylaw to regulate the use of petitions, plebiscites and referendums on municipal matters.
A bylaw to specify the requirements of a planning study and a planning study plebiscite.

The City annually adopts a bylaw to levy taxes
A bylaw to regulate traffic and parking in the City of Whitehorse. The new bylaw adopted in 2013 includes a parking permit system for qualified residents of certain areas in the downtown core.
A bylaw to permit, license and regulate the owners and operators of vehicles for hire in the City of Whitehorse.
Waste Management Bylaw
A bylaw to provide for the collection, removal, transportation, and disposal of solid waste within the City.
A bylaw to provide for the operation, maintenance and control of a water distribution system for the City of Whitehorse.
The zoning bylaw provides zoning to allow for economic, beneficial and environmentally sensitive development in the city, having regard for the following objectives:
- implementing the Official Community Plan
- providing a comfortable community with a variety of settings for residents
- maintaining and enhancing a community character complementary to the surrounding natural environment, and
- serving as a centre for a wide range of commercial, recreational, industrial and institutional services to residents and visitors
