In 2006 Council adopted the Detailed Riverfront Plan. The Plan now forms the City's vision for the Riverfront between Main Street and Ogilvie Street. Riverfront Design Guidelines were developed to provide direction over the physical features that may be developed in the Downtown Riverfront area. The guidelines are meant to encourage a pedestrian friendly and aesthetically pleasing Riverfront that recalls the area's historic past. The guidelines provide recommendations on such elements as materials, colour, parking location, landscaping, lighting and building design.
