The City offers financial assistance to encourage volunteer community groups and organizations to further improve and develop recreation opportunities for Whitehorse citizens.
- Category 1 – Recreation Grants
Funding may be available to volunteer community groups and organizations in Whitehorse to further improve or develop recreation opportunities for Whitehorse citizens. Eligibility includes program assistance, leadership development, capital, equipment, and operation and maintenance.
Deadlines: March 15 and September 15
- Category 2 – Recreation Facilities / Parks
Funding may be available for capital, ongoing operation and maintenance, and program assistance costs for non-City owned public recreation facilities and/or park enhancement projects.
Deadline: March 15
- Category 3 – Arts / Cultural Facilities
Funding may be available for capital, ongoing operation and maintenance, and program assistance costs for non-City owned public facilities of an arts and/or heritage nature.
Deadline: March 15

The City of Whitehorse periodically seeks applications from City of Whitehorse residents interested in serving on the Recreation Grant Task Force Committee.
The purpose of the committee is to review and make recommendations to City Council and City Administration on Recreation Grant Funding within the City of Whitehorse.
