Help Us Prevent Theft At City Facilities

Public Service Announcement

Post Date:02/17/2017

Whitehorse – The City encourages citizens to help prevent crimes of opportunity.

Our customers’ security is very important, as is the prevention of crime at City facilities. Unfortunately, we have seen a recent string of thefts at the Canada Games Centre.

Leaving your personal belongings unattended and/or unlocked creates a high theft risk. Please lock up your valuables. You are advised to carry only the personal information, cash or credit cards you need and keep them secure in your wallet or purse.

If you observe suspicious activity or behavior at the Canada Games Centre, please report it to the front desk immediately.

The Canada Games Centre continues to take preventative measures such as security cameras, staff monitoring and lockers for our customers’ belongings and bicycles. We fully cooperate with any investigations pursued by the RCMP.

To report a crime in Whitehorse, please call the RCMP at 667-5555. Contact 911 if you witness an incident in progress.
