Post Date:10/16/2019 1:00 PM

Whitehorse – The City of Whitehorse is pleased to announce that Jason Everitt has been named as the new Fire Chief.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Everitt has served in the industrial, volunteer, composite and career fire sectors. His background also includes several years with Emergency Medical Services, serving as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic.

“Jason’s experience and unique set of abilities made him the superior candidate,” said Mayor Dan Curtis. “We are looking forward to welcoming him to our community and are excited for his start in January. We would also like to thank Chris Green, who is doing a wonderful job serving as Acting Fire Chief in the interim.”

Everitt is married with three adult children. He says he and his wife are excited to have the opportunity to join the Whitehorse community.

“Northern service has been on our radar for some time and we feel both privileged and fortunate to be embarking on this new opportunity,” he added. “I am personally looking forward to joining the City of Whitehorse team as we continue to collaborate to ensure world class service to such a diverse and vibrant community.”

Everitt will assume his new role on January 13th, 2020.
