Whitehorse – The City’s Food for Fines program is back for a 13th year.
Receiving a parking ticket between November 30 and December 7 means you have the option of paying for your ticket or donating food of equal or higher value to a parking ticket.
Expired parking meter and two-hour zone ticket fines are eligible.
City Hall will accept donations until December 11. All donations will go directly to the Whitehorse Food Bank and Kaushee’s Place.
Past fundraising efforts have been very successful. Since 2006, the City has raised over $59,000 in cash and food donations for this important cause.
Donated food items must be non-perishable, which includes canned foods such as beans, fruit, vegetables and fish, and dried goods such as pasta, cereal and soup.
