Cardboard Recycling Resumes

Whitehorse – Cardboard recycling has resumed at both Raven Recycling and the City of Whitehorse Waste Management Facility.

All other recycling services including plastics, tin, refundables, etc., continue to be temporarily suspended until further notice.

A reminder that:

  • Spring Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) day has been cancelled. Please store HHW in a safe, secure location until the fall event.
  • Spring Clean-Up days (May 21-25) will be held as scheduled. During this week, residential and yard waste is accepted at the Waste Management Facility free of charge.
  • Bagged compost is available for purchase at the Waste Management Facility. Bulk orders will become available mid-May.
  • Curbside collection of bagged yard waste will resume May 11th. Residential and yard waste is accepted at the Waste Management Facility (regular tipping fees apply).
  • Bears are awake! Be bear aware. Learn how to secure waste from wildlife at: Whitehorse.ca/wildlife
  • When visiting the Waste Management Facility, remember:
    • Pay with credit card or debit, if possible
    • Please be patient while waiting for service
    • Limit or combine trips if possible
    • Physical distancing
    • Frequent cleaning of surfaces and items
    • Properly executed hand hygiene
