Canada Games Centre Re-opening Plan

Post Date:05/27/2021 8:46 AM

Whitehorse – The Canada Games Centre will enter a new stage of its re-opening plan on Tuesday, June 1st.

This stage allows for the showers, change rooms and lockers to re-open with enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols. The waterslide will also re-open, but the spray features, sauna and steam room will remain closed until further notice.

Directional travel signage will be removed from hallways and patrons can now access the pool through the aquatics hallway.

Wearing a face mask is still required throughout the facility, including in change rooms, but can be removed during physical activity and while using the pool and hot tub. In addition, swimmers no longer have to wear a mask while on the pool deck.

There will also be capacity increases (as space permits) to maintain physical distancing.

The summer drop-in schedule will be released on June 12th, and will reflect relevant programming changes.

When visiting the Canada Games Centre, please remember:

  • Stay home if you are feeling sick;
  • Physical distancing (2 m / 6 ft);
  • Practice proper hand hygiene;
  • Stay only for the duration of your activity;
  • Limit the amount of family members dropping-off and picking up patrons, when possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, as we take these extra precautions to provide the safest environment possible for everyone who visits and works at our facility.
