WHITEHORSE – Acts of vandalism over the weekend have hampered City efforts to protect the integrity of the Millennium Trail at several locations.
“We implore people to respect our efforts to safeguard strategic areas of the community, whether it’s on the Millennium Trail or elsewhere,” said Mayor Dan Curtis. “City staff are working around the clock and these malicious acts can put people’s safety in jeopardy.”
Please keep your distance from the edge of the Yukon River at all times, as some areas may be unstable and dangerous.
Everyone is encouraged to register for Whitehorse Alert, the City’s free, emergency mass notification system.
Please visit whitehorse.ca/flood and the Government of Yukon’s emergency page, as well as our social media channels, for the most up-to-date information.
