Whitehorse Flood Update #3

Post Date:07/14/2021 3:17 PM

WHITEHORSE – City of Whitehorse crews are continuing to sandbag priority areas of the community.

Today, mobilization of a superbag berm began in the Marwell subdivision to strengthen priority areas. In addition, superbags will be used to weigh down the Bert Law Bridge along the Millennium Trail. The bridge has been closed since July 2nd due to high water levels.

The City is taking these steps out of an abundance of caution. Please be respectful of these preventative measures and report any vandalism to the City of Whitehorse through its contact us page. These measures are being taken to keep residents safe.

Please keep your distance from the edge of the Yukon River at all times, as some areas may be unstable and dangerous.

Everyone is encouraged to register for Whitehorse Alert, the City’s free, emergency mass notification system.

Please visit and the Government of Yukon’s emergency page for the most up-to-date information.
