Food for Fines Campaign

Post Date:11/16/2021 1:45 PM

Whitehorse – The City’s Food for Fines campaign is back for a 15th year.

If you receive a parking ticket between Saturday, December 4th and Saturday, December 11th you have the option of paying for your ticket by donating food of equal or greater value to that ticket.

Expired parking meter and two-hour zone ticket fines are eligible.

City Hall will accept donations until Wednesday, December 15th. All donations will go directly to the Whitehorse Food Bank and Kaushee’s Place. Money collected from eligible tickets that are paid online will also be donated.

Past fundraising efforts have been very successful. Since 2006, the City has raised over $75,000 in cash and food donations for this important cause.

Donated food items must be non-perishable, which includes canned foods such as beans, fruit, vegetables and fish, and dried goods such as pasta, cereal and soup.
