Information for prospective candidates
The information provided here is intended to inform prospective candidates about the qualifications required, disqualification criteria, nomination process, election procedures, and some of the basic duties, obligations, and responsibilities of an elected council member.
Prospective candidates are asked to come to City Hall to pick up nomination papers and register with the Returning Officer. This will allow election officials to ensure that all prospective candidates receive the same information and can be kept informed of new information as it becomes available. Nomination forms are NOT available on the website. Registering does not obligate anyone to file a nomination.
