The City of Whitehorse Strategic Plan is a plan identifying Council’s priorities during their 3 year term. At the beginning of each new Council term, the City’s strategic plan is developed through an inclusive process involving the public and staff. Priorities are determined and action plans established. The plan is updated quarterly and revised annually to assess progress and adjust to changing community needs.
Developed with and for the community, this document is a tool that describes the way forward with a continued focus on improving performance and results in 10 strategic focus areas, each with strategies and key initiatives that translate goals into specific actions. It becomes the basis for informed decision-making that meets the needs of residents and respects the City’s focus on sustainability.
The 10 Council Priorities are as follows:
- Solid Waste Management
- Service Capacity Review
- Land Development
- Solar District Heating
- Tourism Function
- Community Economic Development Strategy
- Public Communication
- Municipal Services Building
