City Presents Food For Fines Donation

WHITEHORSE – The City presented a cheque for $9,915 and food donations valued at $2,085 to three local organizations.

The contributions to the Whitehorse Food Bank, Kaushee’s Place and the Skookum Jim Friendship Centre come from the Food For Fines campaign.

Anyone with an eligible parking ticket had the option of donating cash or food of equal value to pay the fine. The campaign ran from November 26 to December 10, marking the fundraiser’s 18^th year.

More than $113,000 has been raised in cash and food donations through the Food For Fines campaign over the years.
