Bear: 8-10 years old
To help you along we've create a little video to demonstrate the exercises.
Complete 1 set of all 5 exercises (repeat if having fun!). Some exercises you have to do 5 repetitions per leg (10 in total). Can you do each exercise and count to 5? How many reps can you do of all 5 exercises?
One Foot Bear Hops (Balance) - 8 times per leg
Balance on one foot, hopping up and down 8 times. Switch Legs.
Bear Star Jumps (Core, Coordination-Locomotion) - 8 times
Jump up (growl like a bear if you want too!) as high as you can opening your legs out to the side and your arms up and out to the side at the same time!
Bear Walk (Core, Coordination-Locomotion) - 8 times
Hands and feet- no knees- Walk forward counting to 8.
Crab Walk. What? A Bear pretending to be a crab? (Core, Coordination-Locomotion) - 8 times
Sitting on floor with your feet out in front of you, hip width apart. Plant your hands and feet so hips are raised. Then begin to walk counting to 8.
Rolling Bear (Core, Strength, Stability) - 8 times
Hands above your head, legs together, toes pointed- roll 8 times into the Rabbit Hole. How many reps can you do?
Hungry Bear Squats (Core, Strength, Stability) - 8 times
Crouch down, knees bent, pretend to pick some berries- stand up tall and pretend to eat your berries! Can you do this 8 times?
Lunging Bear (Core, Strength- Locomotion) - 8 times
Lunge forward with one foot, make sure to keep knee in line with ankle. Slowly squat down, gently touching back knee to ground, and slowly raising body back to standing. Repeat with opposite leg in front.
Mountain Bear Climbers (Core, Strength-Locomotion) - 8 times
On the floor go to plank position by putting your hands flat on the floor, hands shoulder-width apart, arms straight and back flat. Pretend you are climbing a mountain switching one foot at a time.
