DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for the Last Splash at the Canada Games Centre! \nThe Last Splash is the free event we host prior to the shutdown of the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre for annual maintenance. \nFriday\, August 8\n1 to 9 pm\nFeaturing fun games\, activities and the Wibit! \nThis year’s maintenance is focused on the pool ventilation system and will be more extensive than in previous years. To complete this important work\, the aquatic centre will be closed for 10 weeks beginning Saturday\, August 9. \nCGC members have the option to pause their membership for the duration of the pool closure. Members can get in touch with Recreation staff at cgcmembers@whitehorse.ca to put in the request\, or contact 867-668-8360 with any questions. \nFor a full schedule of events and activities happening at the CGC\, visit whitehorse.ca/cgc.

Where fun meets community! \nGames and activities\nSnacks and refreshments\nMusic\, fun and learning \nAt this week’s Fridays in the Park: \nYukon Invasive Species Council\nExplore the world of plants – invasive and non-invasive – with hands-on crafts and games. Design your own nature headband or bookmark. \n\nHumane Society Yukon\nThe Humane Society team will be demonstrating how to safely handle and care for dogs and puppies. \nAutism Yukon\nAutism Yukon is bringing Fun with 5 Senses: for all ages to explore easy ways to engage the senses through fun and interactive activities. \nThe Disciples Robotics Team\nJoin the team for an exciting demonstration of what it takes to compete in a robotics competition—from building robots to putting them into action! \n\n\nThe City’s Parks team is bringing an inclusive play tent\, FireSmart colouring books\, freezies\, and Klondike Kettle Corn share! We’ll also have some Panago cheesy bread coupons to give away. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all\, we kindly ask that children under 12 be accompanied by a guardian throughout the event.
