SUMMARY:Fire Prevention Week
DESCRIPTION:Fire Prevention Week is October 4 to 10\, 2026 \nThis year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower. Everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires. \nUnplug your device when it is fully-charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. \nTo find out more about Fire Prevention Week programs and activities in Whitehorse\, please contact the Whitehorse Fire Department at fireprevention@whitehorse.ca \nFor more information about Fire Prevention Week and lithium-ion battery safety\, visit fpw.org. \n\n
