DESCRIPTION:Kick off your weekend every Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at your neighbourhood parks! \nThe City of Whitehorse\, along with our community partners\, invites families to join us for an unforgettable experience at your neighbourhood park. Where fun meets community! \nGames and activities\nSnacks and refreshments\nMusic\, fun and learning \nAt this week’s Fridays in the Park: \nYukon Environment\nYG’s Fish and Wildlife Branch is bringing their Mega Mammals to FITP! Through hands-on activities\, this program offers a chance to discover more about large mammals like bears\, wolves\, moose and caribou. \n\nThe Disciples Robotics Team\nJoin the team for an exciting demonstration of what it takes to compete in a robotics competition—from building robots to putting them into action! \nHumane Society Yukon\nThe Humane Society team will be demonstrating how to safely handle and care for dogs and puppies. \n\n\nWe’ll also have the City’s Water and Waste team joining the fun with waste diversion-themed cornhole\, and the Bylaw team attending to talk about bike safety. The Whitehorse Fire Department will also be in the park to chat about general fire and home safety. \nThe City’s Parks team is bringing games\, freezies and Klondike Kettle Corn to share! \n\nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all\, we kindly ask that children under 12 be accompanied by a guardian throughout the event. DESCRIPTION:The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is hosting National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations on June 21. \nFind more info about this year’s celebration here. \n  \nPlease note there will be some impacts on municipal services. \nSaturday\, June 21 \nMost City facilities and services will be closed\, including the Canada Games Centre. \nThe Waste Management Facility will operate as usual. \nTransit will operate on its weekend schedule. \nMonday\, June 23 – Statutory Holiday \nMost City facilities and services will be closed. \nThe Canada Games Centre and the Waste Management Facility will operate as usual. \nTransit will operate on its weekend schedule. \nThe Frank Slim Building in Shipyards Park will be open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. \nCurbside collection will continue as normal for Logan\, Copper Ridge\, and Whistle Bend.
