Waste Management Facility upgrades begin July 15

The City’s contractor, Yukon Equipment Services, will begin planned upgrades to the Whitehorse Waste Management Facility Transfer Station on July 15.

The upgrades will see site improvements to the existing transfer station and an expansion of a new transfer station south of the facility’s gatehouse.  The project will continue into the fall and will improve operations at the facility.

Users of the facility can expect temporary delays and altered traffic configurations while work is underway. Traffic will be reduced to one lane while a new scale is installed.

Anyone visiting the facility is asked to be cautious and follow directions from staff.
