WHITEHORSE – Rizwan Shareef is the City of Whitehorse 2025 Volunteer of the Year.
Mr. Shareef was nominated by the Yukon Hospital Corporation for his dedication to patients, youth and the broader community.
“Rizwan has made a lasting impact at Whitehorse General Hospital, where he initiated the hospital’s wayfinding map to improve patient navigation and led the Books on Wheels program, offering companionship and support to patients,” his nomination reads.
“Outside the hospital, he serves as a youth sports coach, promoting academic and athletic growth while encouraging exploration of careers in healthcare. His ability to connect, uplift, and lead with humility and purpose sets him apart.”
Shareef was chosen from a list of 25 impressive nominees who were recognized at the annual Volunteer of the Year Ceremony on April 15.
