Lane closure on Second Avenue

The City of Whitehorse is advising residents the right-turn lane from Second Avenue onto Two Mile Hill Road will be closed starting at 10 a.m. today.

This road closure will give crews the space they need to further diagnose and repair a water leak discovered in the area earlier this week.

The source of the leak is still under investigation and crews are now using a variety of equipment to access the underground infrastructure, which is located more than 10 feet beneath the road’s surface. These types of repairs can be challenging during the winter when temperatures are below zero.

We continue to ask the public to use alternate routes, and if in the area, use caution, slow down, and watch for crews and equipment working.
