Construction & Demolition (C&D) Waste

Starting a project from scratch, renovating or tearing down an old building? Did you check for asbestos? C&D waste needs to be separated from your regular waste because it’s bulky, creating air pockets in our landfill and taking up valuable space. The Whitehorse Waste Management Facility accepts C&D waste separately from other materials including asbestos, clean wood, cardboard and metals. Unsorted loads mixed with C&D are subject to higher tipping fees.  Since 2000 C&D waste has grown 78%, likely due to increased housing developments.

C&D At The Waste Management Facility

	Material	Cupboards, Counter tops, Carpet and underlay, Sinks and toilets, Bricks and Masonry, Concrete, Gyproc, Planking and siding, Treated wood, Polystyrene or fiberglass insulation
	Requirements	Must be separated from regular waste. When mixed with regular waste, could trigger unsorted waste charges at the Waste Management Facility.
	Services	Drop off at Waste Management Facility (tipping fee applies). Serviced C&D waste bins can be arranged through General Waste Management or Pacific Northwest.
