Pride Parade in Whitehorse this weekend

The Pride Parade is taking place in Whitehorse on Saturday, August 2, beginning at 1 pm. To help ensure the safety of all participants and the public, Bylaw Services will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

Beginning at 12:45 pm, the following road closures will be in effect during the parade:

• Second Avenue will be closed from the intersection at Main Street to the intersection at Rotary Park.

• Main Street will be closed from Sixth Avenue to Second Avenue.

All southbound traffic will detour towards Fourth Avenue via Steele St and northbound traffic will detour towards Fourth Avenue via intersection of Rotary Park to Robert Service Way roundabout.

Transit riders may experience delays during the parade. Passengers from the south end of Second Avenue (south of Main Street), should go to City Hall or The Law Courts to access Transit.

In the event of an emergency, all emergency vehicles will be given priority access.
