A Special Meeting of City Council took place on February 12 for Second and Third Reading of the proposed new Zoning Bylaw.
At Second Reading, City Council introduced changes to the proposed bylaw related to:
- short-term rentals;
- parking requirements;
- building heights;
- mobile homes; and
- lighting
City Council referred the proposed changes back to City Administration for further analysis, including the implications of the individual changes for the proposed bylaw as a whole and whether any further public engagement is recommended.
Administration will report back to Council in the coming weeks with its analysis and recommended next steps.
Zoning applications continue to be subject to the current Zoning Bylaw (2012-20) until a new Zoning Bylaw is adopted by City Council.
The Zoning Bylaw governs what kind of development can occur and how property and land can be used within the city.
