A second Public Hearing has been scheduled for the proposed new Zoning Bylaw. The Public Hearing will take place on Monday, April 13 at 5:30pm in Council Chambers at City Hall.
The Zoning Bylaw governs what kind of development can occur and how property and land can be used within the city.
The Public Hearing on April 13 is an opportunity for residents to provide feedback on changes introduced to the proposed bylaw since the first Public Hearing was held in December 2025. These include amendments made by Council and those proposed by Administration after the first Public Hearing.
Changes have been made in various areas of the proposed Zoning Bylaw, including:
• short-term rentals;
• parking requirements;
• building heights;
• mobile homes;
• lighting; and
• evaluation criteria for affordable housing allowances.
The changes are detailed in a Supplemental Report presented to Council on March 16. Read the Supplemental Report and find more information about the proposed new Zoning Bylaw at engagewhitehorse.ca.
In addition to attending the Public Hearing, residents can provide feedback on the proposed Zoning Bylaw by emailing [email protected]. Feedback will be received until 5:30pm on April 13.
Zoning applications will continue to be subject to the current Zoning Bylaw (2012-20) until a new Zoning Bylaw is adopted by City Council.
