The City of Whitehorse is completing asphalt overlay work on Fourth Avenue between Ogilvie Street and Second Avenue as part of ongoing road maintenance efforts.
Work is scheduled to start on Monday, June 1 and continue throughout the month. Traffic disruptions can be expected, including single-lane closures and reduced speeds.
Transit users on Routes 101 (City Central), 202 (Porter Creek West), and 302 (Copper Ridge South) can expect delays.
The entrance into Baxter Street at Fourth Avenue will be closed from Friday, June 22 to Wednesday, July 3 while concrete work is completed. During this time, Baxter Street can be accessed via Seventh Avenue.
Access to adjacent properties to the construction will be maintained throughout construction, however, short delays may occur.
No parking is permitted within the work zone while construction is underway. Flaggers and traffic control personnel will be on site to assist motorists and pedestrians.
Residents and road users are asked to drive with caution, obey posted signage, and follow directions from onsite crews.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve roadway conditions.
Please note that construction schedules are subject to change as work progresses.
