Saturday, June 28 is set to be a busy day at Shipyards Park with an All-Day Community Bash produced by the Yukon Arts Centre to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lotteries Yukon.
Family activities and live performances begin at noon and continue up to the headline performance by Our Lady Peace at 5 p.m.
To reduce traffic congestion, those attending the event are encouraged to consider carpooling, taking Transit or using active transportation.
Do not park by Fire Hall #1 (Black Street or Front Street). Emergency vehicles need enough space to safely come and go from the station.
Bylaw Services will be directing traffic throughout the day. When the concert ends around 6:30 p.m., detours will be in effect to reduce congestion on Second Avenue and improve safety for pedestrians and drivers leaving Shipyards Park. Northbound traffic on Second Avenue will be rerouted to Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue via Black Street and Ogilvie Street.
Those who will be in the area are advised to expect increased pedestrian traffic, be cautious, watch for signage and follow the direction of traffic control.
