Canada Games Centre Ice Cancellations

Ice surfaces at the Canada Games Centre will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 6 until at least Monday.

Repairs are required to one of the facility’s ice plant compressors. The decision has been made to cancel all ice bookings as well as any drop-in ice activities with the exception of the Arctic Edge Skating Club’s Gold Nugget Competition.

Impacted user groups have been notified directly by Facility Bookings staff.

Mechanics are scheduled to arrive in Whitehorse on Monday, December 9 to assess and make repairs. An update will be provided Monday morning.

The City apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience as we work to resolve this issue.
