The track at the Canada Games Centre will be closed for three weeks beginning Tuesday, January 21.
The closure is necessary to replace the 18-year-old flooring on the perimeter of the track and is scheduled to start this month due to contractor availability.
The new PolyTurf Plus flooring will be easier to clean and is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, which means it has low chemical emissions and contributes to cleaner indoor air.
The track is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, February 12.
The City apologizes for the inconvenience.
For patrons who normally access the running track, we suggest:
– Walking the upper concourse (similar to mall walking);
– Participating in our drop-in programming;
– Using the Wellness Centre (fitness specialists are available to provide an orientation); and
– Asking staff about additional programming options.
