The Yukon Championships Invitational Swim Meet is taking place at the Canada Games Centre from May 2 to 4.
To accommodate the swimming competition, the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4. The pool will reopen to the public on Monday, May 5.
The CGC will also be welcoming judokas from across the territory for the Yukon Judo Championships on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Fieldhouse.
Additionally, the Yukon Fish & Game Association will host its Bird & Bat Building Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Kids are invited to build their own bird or bat house. Pre-cut materials will be provided free of charge, just bring a hammer.
The City’s Recreation Expo is also happening on Sunday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come out to this free trade-show style event to connect with sport, recreation, education and social service organizations.
With a busy weekend ahead, parking will be limited. Anyone planning to visit the facility is encouraged to use active transportation, carpool, use overflow parking or take Transit to assist with traffic flow. Drivers are asked to respect designated spaces.
Please do not block accessible parking spaces, bus lanes, bus stops along Hamilton Boulevard.
