Free brush disposal for residential FireSmarting

The City of Whitehorse and the Government of Yukon are partnering to support Whitehorse residents FireSmart their properties.

Residents clearing brush to FireSmart their properties can now drop their brush off for free at the Waste Management Facility.

Residents will need to bring the brush separately, or a mixed load disposal fee will apply.  Residents are asked to inform the attendants at the gate that their load is FireSmart brush.

This program does not apply to commercial brush disposal.

The Government of Yukon is providing funding to cover disposal fees until October 31.

The Waste Management Facility is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends.
