            City Offices

            Many City of Whitehorse offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and Boxing Day, Friday, December 26.

            City offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.

            Transit Services

            There will be no Transit service on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Transit will operate according to the weekend bus schedule on Friday, December 26.

            Canada Games Centre

            The Canada Games Centre will operate with reduced hours on:

            • Wednesday, December 24 from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
            • Wednesday, December 31 from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

            The Canada Games Centre will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

            Frank Slim Building at Shipyards Park

            The Frank Slim Building will be open:

            • Friday, December 26 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
            • Wednesday, December 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the annual New Year’s celebration.

            The Frank Slim Building will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

            Waste Management Facility

            The Waste Management Facility will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

            On Boxing Day, tipping fees at the Waste Management Facility will be waived for self-hauled loads of sorted residential waste. Tipping fees still apply for metals, appliances, and all commercial loads. For more details, visit whitehorse.ca/wasteservices.

            Waste Collection

            Residential garbage and organics collection in Riverdale and all Thursday commercial organics collections will be moved from December 25 and January 1 to Friday December 26 and January 2, respectively.

            Recycling

            Curbside recycling collection that falls on December 25 or January 1 will be collected on the following Monday, December 29 or January 5, respectively. Please note that recycling is now managed by Circular Materials.

            For assistance outside of office hours, call the Trouble Line at 667-2111, and in the event of an emergency, call 911.
