Learn About New Housing Options In Whitehorse

Recent changes to the City’s Zoning Bylaw allow more options for residential development in Whitehorse, including up to four units per lot in all urban single detached residential zones.

The City is hosting two webinars to help residents and developers learn about the changes and answer questions about how to increase housing options in Whitehorse.

Staff from the City’s planning department will discuss the Guide for Developing Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing, a new resource to help prospective developers understand the new options available under the Zoning Bylaw.

The Guide features a summary of the Bylaw changes, design considerations such as building code requirements and engineering regulations, as well as design examples and funding opportunities.

One webinar is planned for the public and one is geared towards those in the industry with an existing knowledge of development regulations:
