Residents asked to be mindful of snow clearing signs
The City of Whitehorse is asking residents to watch for snow clearing signs on your streets and to keep roads clear when we visit your neighbourhood.
The City has seen more than 43 centimetres of precipitation so far this month, almost half of this winter’s total. Crews are doing their best to keep up but vehicles and obstructions left in the road are making it hard to properly clear and remove snow.
Over the past few weeks, snow clearing efforts have been hampered because of cars, boats, and other materials left in the roadway. These obstructions take time to work around, and result in poor conditions.
If there are too many obstructions, crews may be forced to move to a different neighbourhood and not clear that road.
In the event crews continue to see obstructions on certain streets, the City may also implement a Parking Ban, resulting in any obstruction being towed away at the owner’s expense.
In the meantime, the City would like to recognize the residents of Whistle Bend. Recent clearing efforts show residents are vigilant at keeping roads clear making it easier for crews to work quickly and efficiently.
