Road closure set for New Year’s Eve fireworks

Residents are advised that a section of Wickstrom Road will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Wednesday, December 31 from 7:30 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m.

The closure is for the New Year’s Eve fireworks display that will be set off at 8 p.m. near the clay cliffs at Wickstrom Road.

The fireworks will cap off a full day of activities and New Year’s Eve celebrations. Join the evening festivities at Shipyards Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. for sledding, skating, warm drinks, and take in the fireworks at the park.

Other great vantage points will be along the Riverfront Trail, the Airport Trail and the Downtown Escarpment Trail.
