Whistle Bend Way (North) will be closed to through traffic between Casca Boulevard and Wann Road for one week beginning Monday, July 27 to begin preparations for resurfacing, including work on ditches and drainage.
Whistle Bend Way (North) will reopen after initial prep work and a second closure will follow about a week later for the paving work.
Cyclists, pedestrians and drivers of personal vehicles are asked to detour through Hickory Street to Mountainview Drive, while larger commercial vehicles such as dump trucks will use 12th Avenue as a detour to Mountainview Drive.
Detours will also be in place for Transit Routes 401 and 402 (Whistle Bend East and Whistle Bend West). Bus stops for both routes at Hickory Street and Evergreen Crescent, Hickory Street and Chestnut Place, and Porter Creek Secondary School (north and southbound) will be closed. Transit users can expect minor delays.
Emergency response vehicles will be provided access through the work area if needed.
Road users are asked to follow signage and directions from traffic control personnel. Please keep away from the work area and allow extra time while work is underway. Work is weather dependent and schedules may change.
The City thanks residents for their patience and apologizes for any inconvenience.
