Hillcrest reconstruction resumes

Reconstruction work in Hillcrest has resumed.

The City’s contractor, Castle Rock Enterprises, is installing a storm main at Summit Road and Roundel Road from May 11 – 16.

The intersection will be limited to local traffic only with Transit and school buses detoured to Hillcrest Drive.

Bus stops on Sunset Drive North will be closed. Transit users should use other stops nearby, including on Hillcrest Drive. Delays can be expected. Use the Transloc app to see where your bus is in real-time.

Emergency vehicles will be provided access through the area if needed.

Local road users are asked to follow signage and direction and limit speeds to 30 kilometres per hour.

This work is part of the reconstruction project that began in 2025.

In addition to installing a storm main, the 2026 construction season will see:

• water/sewer mains and services installed
• surface work, including asphalt, gutters, and curbs
• general restoration work.
