Traffic calming work continues

Starting Saturday, August 8, the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre at the Canada Games Centre will be closed for approximately four weeks for annual maintenance.
This year’s work includes:
• installation of a new ozone compressor
• new heating pumps
• filter sand replacement
• work on the boiler system
• deep cleaning
• equipment servicing
• preventative maintenance activities
While the temporary closure impacts regular pool programming, these essential upgrades help ensure the facility remains safe, reliable, and well-maintained for the community, extending the life of critical infrastructure and supporting a high-quality aquatics experience for residents and visitors year-round.
The aquatics team will host their annual Last Splash event on Friday, August 7, providing the community with one final opportunity to enjoy the pool before the maintenance period begins.
