The City’s FireSmart Home Assessment program closes for the 2025 season on Friday, November 21.
Thank you to all those who have welcomed us to their properties to talk about ways to reduce the risk and impacts of wildfire.
Since the program began in 2024, we have provided free assessments for nearly 400 private properties, and we appreciate the opportunity to support homeowners in reducing wildfire risk.
FireSmart begins at home, and you don’t need a free home assessment to take action. You can use self-assessment tools, including the FireSmart Canada’s FireSmart Begins at Home app to help you make choices to FireSmart your property.
Free home assessments will return in the Spring of 2026. To get on the waitlist, please email [email protected].
The City’s FireSmart team will continue working on a variety of risk reduction activities including fuel management and the Neighbourhood Recognition Program.
