Report illegal dumping

October 20, 2026

Dumping waste on City or private property is illegal. It damages the natural environment and is costly to remove.

Please remember to:

  • Place waste in proper containers
  • Use the Waste Management Facility or territorial waste and recycling facilities
  • If you see someone illegal dumping, visit whitehorse.ca/report-a-problem or call Bylaw Services at 867-667-2111 to report it.
  • For dumping outside city limits, call the TIPP line at 1-800-661-0525.

The Whitehorse Waste Management Facility hours of operation are:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Weekends: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Closed: Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is accepted for free at the Whitehorse Waste Management Facility on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
