Road Closure for New Year’s Eve Fireworks

Residents are advised that a portion of Wickstrom Road will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Tuesday, December 31 from 7:30 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m.

The closure is for the 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve fireworks display that will be set off near the clay cliffs at Wickstrom Road.

The fireworks will be part of the celebrations happening for New Year’s Eve. Join the evening festivities at Shipyards Park beginning at 7 p.m. for sledding, skating, warm drinks and take in the fireworks at the park.

Other great vantage points will be along the Riverfront Trail, the Airport Trail and the Downtown Escarpment Trail.

Celebrations will also be happening at the Canada Games Centre throughout the day until 6 p.m.
