The City is seeking input on its new draft Zoning Bylaw.
The draft Zoning Bylaw reflects significant engagement with residents, stakeholders and experts in community planning over the past two years as well as best practices in municipal governance.
The Zoning Bylaw governs what kind of development can occur and how property and land can be used within Whitehorse.
The proposed updates to the Zoning Bylaw are designed to:
– Enable more housing development
– Promote transit use and neighbourhood walkability
– Support local food and urban agriculture
– Promote sustainable development
– Increase clarity and transparency around development processes
The City is hosting several engagement opportunities in the coming weeks to gather public feedback, and an online survey will be available until June 20, 2025.
