This week City crews began clearing the paved trail between the Hillcrest neighbourhood and Hamilton Boulevard.
This month, City Council approved a two-year pilot project to clear snow from the Hillcrest trail connecting to Hamilton Boulevard. The pilot project also includes snow clearing on the Hamilton Boulevard paved trail, which will begin in the fall of 2025.
The pilot project will create more winter transportation options for commuters while promoting active transportation and increasing accessibility for students and families travelling to Elijah Smith Elementary School and users of the Mt. McIntyre Recreation Centre and the Canada Games Centre.
Residents using the Hillcrest to Hamilton Boulevard paved trail are asked to watch for crews and equipment on the Hillcrest trail and follow signage and direction by crew members.
