The Riverfront Town Square is launching on June 28

            June 13, 2024

The Riverfront Town Square will run along the waterfront and wharf area in downtown Whitehorse until August 31.

The Town Square promises to be a bustling social hub for residents and visitors, featuring a vendor’s market and local food trucks as well as live music and visual arts workshops.

A market will run each Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local vendors interested in participating in the market can find more information and apply here: Town Square Vendors – City of Whitehorse

Food trucks will also be serving up a delicious variety of food as part of the Town Square.

Music Yukon will produce free concerts beside the Roundhouse each Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout July and August. Music Yukon has launched a call for musicians interested in performing as part of the Town Square concert series. Find information on how to apply here: musicyukon.com/riverfront-town-square-music-series-call-for-artists.

Arts Underground will be hosting art workshops by the wharf each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Two visual artists will offer free workshops each week. Arts Underground has launched a call for artists. Find more information and submit a proposal for a workshop or demonstration here: Town Square Instructor Proposal Form (jotform.com)

We are excited to collaborate with a number of organizations and artists to make the Riverfront Town Square an enriching and memorable event for residents and visitors this summer.

The Town Square will have a soft launch on June 28 with additional seating areas set up on the wharf and along the riverfront.

It will officially kick off on July 1 with a community art-making event in partnership with Yukon artist Ken Anderson and the Northern Cultural Expressions Society in conjunction with the 2024 Adäka Cultural Festival. Participants will contribute to an artwork connecting the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre to the wharf. The first market and concert will take place on July 2.

Mark your calendars and we’ll see you at the Riverfront!
