City prepares roads and trails for winter

October 28, 2026

Tobogganing Fridays returns to Shipyards Park

October 29, 2026

Tobogganing Fridays returns to Shipyards Park this winter!

The weekly fun will begin November 6, weather permitting, and continue until December 18.

Each Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Parks staff will be serving up hot chocolate and a lot of fun. The Frank Slim Building will also be open, and families are invited to join us inside to play or colour.

These weekly events are free and family-friendly, so grab a sled and join friends and neighbours for an afternoon of sliding, hot chocolate, and a warm fire.

Guardian supervision is required. Caregivers should ride on the sled with children five years of age and younger. Weekly events are weather-dependent, so watch the City’s social media channels for the latest information.

A limited number of sleds will be available at the park, and participants are encouraged to bring their own.
