Whitehorse marks 25th Lancieux Sister City relationship

The flag of Lancieux, France is flying in front of City Hall in honour of the 25^th anniversary of Whitehorse’s Sister City relationship with Lancieux.

L’Association franco-yukonnaise has been instrumental in helping to establish and maintain the Sister City relationship between Whitehorse and Lancieux. Plans are underway for a virtual cultural exchange program between the Sister Cities and a public event to celebrate the relationship later in the fall.

Whitehorse and Lancieux are bonded in the proud memory of poet Robert Service, who lived in Lancieux after his time in the Yukon.

The Sister City relationship promotes international friendship between France and Canada as well as the sharing of cultural and educational opportunities.
