City presents Food For Fines donation

The City presented a cheque for $6,680 and food donations worth $5,320 for a total of $12,000 to two local organizations.

The contributions to the Food Bank Society of the Yukon and Kaushee’s Place come from the annual Food For Fines campaign.

Anyone with a parking ticket had the option of donating cash or food of equal value to pay the fine. This year’s campaign ran from November 26 to December 10, marking the 19^th year the City has hosted this important fundraiser.

Approximately $124,000 has been raised in cash and food donations through the Food For Fines campaign over the years.
