Work is underway to make City Hall more accessible to residents.
A new elevator is being installed to improve access to Council Chambers. The current lift, which is around 15 years old, is being decommissioned and removed.
Construction of the new elevator is scheduled to continue until the end of July. During this period, stairway access will be the only option to enter Council Chambers. The stairway will also be upgraded during the annual summer Council break in July.
Alternative arrangements are in place to accommodate residents with limited mobility that would like to attend or participate as a delegate in City Council meetings. Please contact the City’s Legislative Services Department at [email protected] for more information.
City Council meetings will continue as scheduled until July 6. After the annual summer Council break, Council meetings will resume on August 3. Find more information about Council meetings at whitehorse.ca/city-council.
