Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup in Whitehorse!
Join us for a special one-day community celebration on Friday, June 5 from 1 to 9 p.m. in Shipyards Park.
All ages are invited to take part in football (soccer) activities and be part of the 2026 World Cup festivities.
The community celebration will feature football skills stations, food, cultural programming and more. Local artists Pink House and The Pitch Invaders are among the groups scheduled to perform.
Come cheer on the home team and watch the friendly game between Canada and Ireland at 4:30 p.m,
Parking for this event is limited. Attendees are encouraged to use Transit, active transportation, or carpool. Visit whitehorse.ca/transit for Transit schedules.
Registered service animals are welcome; however, attendees are asked to leave pets at home.
Canada Celebrates is a program taking place throughout Canada in the lead up to the 2026 World Cup, which is being co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19.
The City of Whitehorse received $85,000 from the Tourism Industry Association of Canada to support this event.
